Located in Christchurch, the Pitkin Douglas Home is a high-end family residence designed to support modern living, connection and flexibility. The architectural design responds to the evolving needs of family life, creating spaces that balance openness with moments of privacy and retreat.

Living areas are carefully arranged to encourage connection, with strong links to outdoor spaces that extend the home’s footprint and support everyday living. Natural light, proportion and material selection are used to create a calm, refined environment that feels both functional and considered.

As a contemporary Christchurch family home, the design prioritises adaptability—allowing the house to evolve alongside its occupants. It is a home shaped not just by architecture, but by the rhythms of family life, offering comfort, durability and a sense of permanence over time.

This home was New Zealand's first Certified Passive House Plus.
